Aphera runs fully featured by entering a license key, or during a 14 day trial. Buying a license is handled on the website; see Buy Aphera for pricing and terms. This page covers the trial, activation, and license management inside the app.

Trial

The trial provides full access to every feature for 14 days and requires no payment.

During the trial, a countdown badge appears in the Sidebar, showing the days remaining. Click the badge to open the Registration window.

When the trial ends, the app locks until a license key is entered. See Locked states.

The Registration window

Open the Registration window from App > Register Aphera…. Its contents depend on the current state:

  • During a trial — shows the days remaining and a Trial Ends date, with Buy Aphera and Enter license key buttons.
  • Once licensed — shows Aphera is Registered, a Registered Since date, and Updates & Support coverage: either Ongoing or a date the coverage runs until. A Manage Purchases button opens your account in a web browser.

Entering a license key

  1. Open App > Register Aphera….
  2. Choose Enter license key.
  3. Type or paste the key from your purchase email. Keys have the format APHERA-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
  4. Click Activate.

If a key is not accepted, the window reports the reason (for example, an unrecognized or expired key) and returns you to the entry field to try a different key.

License agreement

On first launch, and whenever the terms change, Aphera presents its license agreement — the EULA, along with the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Scroll to the end of the agreement, then choose Agree to continue. Choosing Disagree exits the app.

Locked states

Aphera locks and shows a full-window notice when it cannot run under the current license. This happens when:

  • The trial has ended.
  • The license has been revoked.
  • The license does not cover this version of the app.
  • The license is for a different build than the one running.

The notice states the reason and provides Enter license key and Buy Aphera buttons. Enter a valid key, or buy a license, to unlock the app.

Updates

App > Check for Updates… installs application updates covered by your license. The coverage window is shown in the Registration window as Updates & Support. See Buy Aphera for what a license includes.
