Aphera has four modes, each providing a different view and level of control over your photos.

Collection (Cmd+1)

Displays a grid of photo thumbnails. Use this mode to browse, select, and organize photos. See Browsing & Collection.

Quick Edit (Cmd+2)

Displays a single photo with balance and look controls at the bottom of the window. Use this for fast tonal adjustments and look selection without the full editing interface.

Detail Edit (Cmd+3)

Displays a single photo with the full editing interface: the edit list on the right and the looks panel on the left. Use this for precise control over the image processing pipeline. See Image Stack and Looks.

Crop (Cmd+K)

Displays the crop and rotation tool. See Crop.

Switching Modes

Press the keyboard shortcut for any mode to switch to it. If no photo is selected when entering an edit mode, Aphera selects the first photo automatically.

In Collection mode, pressing Space returns to the previous edit mode.

Pressing Escape in Quick Edit or Detail Edit returns to Collection mode. Pressing Escape in Crop mode cancels the crop operation.
